PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make the appearance of a stretchable sheet excellent without removing a widthwise end portion.SOLUTION: A stretchable sheet manufacturing apparatus comprises: a joint mechanism 21 for clamping and jointing a pair of continuous sheets 11 in a thinness direction a transfer mechanism 31 for transferring a continuum of a thread-like elastic member 13 toward the paired continuous sheets 11 to be clamped and jointed by the joint mechanism 21 a winding mechanism for winding the continuum of said thread-like elastic member 13 in a stretched state on said transfer mechanism 31 while letting off the continuum of said thread-like elastic member 13 and a cutting mechanism for cutting the continuum of said thread-like elastic member 13 at the position near the end side of said cross direction than the continuous sheets 11, after said paired continuous sheets 11 were clamped by the joint mechanism 21, to form said different thread-like elastic member 13.
