The system 10 includes an imaging device 14 operative to image the object 12, and a controller 16 in electronic communication with the imaging device 14. The controller 16 is operative to acquire 62 at least one pre-shot image 18 of the object 12 via the imaging device 14； and to generate 63, based at least in part on the at least one pre-shot image 18, an indicator 20, 22 that corresponds to a likelihood that one or more diagnostic images of the object acquired 24 via the imaging device 14 will be medically deficient.
