The present invention relates to an apoptosis-related mitochondrial formate dehydrogenase gene CaFDH1 (Capsicum annuum Formate dehydrogenase 1), transgenic plants using the same and a disease resistance searching method. According to the present invention, the gene is able to be usefully used as a genic material for performing a defense reaction of a plant against the attack of pathogenic bacteria, and for efficiently and effectively molecular growing of disease resistant plants, which enables to expect to develop disease resistant plant species and to produce transgenic plants.본 발명은 세포 사멸 관련 미토콘드리아 포메이트 디하이드로게나아제 유전자 CaFDH1(Capsicum annuum Formatedehydrogenase 1), 이를 이용한 형질전환 식물체 및 병저항성 탐색방법에 관한 것이다. 상기한 본 발명에 의하면, 상기 유전자는 병원균의 공격에 대한 식물체의 방어 반응 및 병저항성 식물체의 효율적이고 효과적인 분자적 육종을 위한 유전재료로서 유용하게 사용될 수 있어, 저항성 식물 품종 개발 및 형질전환 식물체 제작에 기여하는 효과를 기대할 수 있게 된다.
