PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stereoscopically observe a three-dimensional medical image according to a stereoscopic viewing system.SOLUTION: The medical image diagnostic apparatus 10 as the medial image processing apparatus in this embodiment includes a rendering processing part 17d and an output part 18c. The rendering processing part 17d determines the number of parallax images for images for stereoscopic viewing to be displayed in a display part based on information on the stereoscopic function of the display part connected to an intended output device that is the target of output, and performs rendering for the volume data that are three-dimensional medical images to generate rendered images corresponding to the number of parallax images.
