The present subject discloses a system and a method for powering a vehicle utilizing kinetic energy of the vehicle in motion. In the implementation, the system may comprise a primary battery assembly. The primary battery system comprises of a plurality of battery. The system may further comprise a first electric motor coupled to the primary battery assembly and a backup assembly. The system may furthermore comprise a generator coupled to the first electrical motor. The system may also comprise a secondary electrical motor coupled to the generated via a variable frequency drive and one or more wheels of the vehicle. During operation the secondary electrical mortar is configured to obtain electrical energy for the generated and move the vehicle, thereby powering a vehicle utilizing kinetic energy of the vehicle in motion.
