A method of removing hair from skin is provided, comprising the steps of: (a) applying a protective composition to an area of skin on which unwanted hair is growing, wherein the protective composition comprises a sterically stabilised emulsion comprising a hydrophilic continuous phase, a hydrophobic dispersed phase and a steric emulsifier； (b) applying a depilatory composition to the area of skin to which the protective composition has been applied, the depilatory composition comprising a keratin reducing agent.La présente invention concerne un procédé d'élimination des poils de la peau comprenant les étapes consistant à : (a) appliquer une composition protectrice sur une région de la peau sur laquelle poussent des poils indésirables, la composition protectrice comprenant une émulsion stériquement stabilisée comprenant une phase continue hydrophile, une phase dispersée hydrophobe et un émulsifiant stérique ； (b) appliquer une composition dépilatoire sur la région de la peau sur laquelle a été appliquée la composition protectrice, la composition dépilatoire comprenant un agent réducteur de la kératine.
