Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zur Herstellung einer Futtermittelsubstanz, die als Futtermittelzusatz oder als Futtermittelhalbfabrikat dienen kann. Insbesondere betrifft die Erfindung eine Futtermittelsubstanz für Fische, Krebstiere und Muscheln. Daneben betrifft es eine solche Futtermittelsubstanz, der nach dem Verfahren hergestellt worden ist. Der Erfindung liegt die Aufgabe zugrunde, ein Verfahren bereitzustellen, nach dem terrestrische und marine biogene Rohstoffe derart verarbeitet werden, dass sie als Futtermittelsubstanz in land- und wassergestützten Aquakulturen zum Einsatz kommen können, wobei sie gleichzeitig die Wasserqualität positiv beeinflussen und das Wachstum und die Qualität des gezüchteten Tiers optimal unterstützen. Die erfindungsgemäße Futtermittelsubstanz, die nach dem Verfahren hergestellt worden ist, umfasst Pflanzenkohle aus Waldrestholz und marine Biomasse.
