PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a preparation for hyperphosphatemia which makes it possible to expect an excellent internal phosphorus-excreting effect over a long period, little has a risk causing side effects such as mineral deficiency disease, diarrhea and constipation, and is suitable for applying to foods and the like.
SOLUTION: This preparation for hyperphosphatemia contains a galactomannan hydrolyzate as an active ingredient. The galactomannan hydrolyzate contained in the preparation is composed of neutral saccharides, and has an average mol.wt. of 10,000 to 30,000. A preferable galactomannan hydrolyzate includes a guar gum hydrolyzate obtained by partially hydrolyzing viscous polysaccharides contained in guar seeds.
