PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hair cosmetic which imparts damaged hair smooth feeling when applied thereto, is excellent in finger combability during being rinsed and after being dried, and after drying, imparts moisture, firmness and resilience to the hair, imparts natural glossiness, and ameliorates wave of the hair to sustain collectability of the hair.SOLUTION: The hair cosmetic contains (A) 0.5-6 mass% of amido amine represented by the formula 1, (B) 6-20 mass% of straight chain alcohol having 14-24 carbon atoms, (C) 0.5-4 mass% of branched chain alcohol represented by the formula 2, (D) 0.3-3 mass% of an ester compound obtained from straight or branched chain fatty acid having 12-22 carbon atoms and hardened caster oil, and (E) 0.3-3 mass% of &alpha-hydroxy acid having 2-6 carbon atoms.
