The invention relates to a piece of mechanized surgical equipment comprising an instrument holder (1) comprising means for receiving and retaining a surgical instrument (2) for mechanized use, and to a surgical instrument (2) for mechanized use, intended to be mounted on the instrument holder (1). According to the invention, the receiving and retaining means are mobile between an unlocking position, in which they enable the insertion of the instrument into the instrument holder or the withdrawal thereof, and a locking position, in which they prevent the withdrawal of the instrument from the instrument holder. Furthermore, the equipment comprises a case (5) in which the active blade of the instrument can be removably housed, the case having an engaging element for engaging with the receiving and retaining means so as to cause them to move from the unlocking position to the locking position, or vice versa.
