The method involves attaching a sensor to the planting container, so as to detect various values within the planting container. The values detected by the sensor are transmitted wirelessly to base station via wireless local area network or Bluetooth. The maintenance needs of the plant planted in the planting container are notified to the mobile terminal of owner via WLAN or Bluetooth, based on the sensor values stored in the base station.
