Disclosed herein is a method for manufacturing hemostatic composite fiber. The method includes the following steps. Chitosan is anionized by an anionized reaction such that an anionic group is bonded to the nitrogen atom of the chitosan. Anionized chitosan, alginate and a solvent are mixed to form a spinning solution. And then, the spinning solution is wet spun to form a composite fiber containing anionized chitosan and alginate. The composite fiber is treated by a base to revert anionized chitosan to chitosan, and thus obtaining a reverted fiber. The reverted fiber is treated by an acid so as to obtain the hemostatic composite fiber.
