The present invention relates to a pharmaceutical composition comprising an extract of fermented Rhus verniciflua STOKES for preventing and treating gastritis, gastric ulcer, duodenal ulcer, gastric cancer and gastric mucosal damages. Particularly, a cultured solution of Fomitella fraxinea is inoculated to the three sites of bark, lignum and combination of bark with lignum of Rhus verniciflua to obtain fermented Rhus verniciflua, which, in turn, is subjected to hydrothermal extraction to obtain an extract of fermented Rhus verniciflua. Then, Helicobacter pylori is treated with the extract of fermented Rhus verniciflua. As a result, a significant antibacterial effect is determined in the mixed extract of bark and lignum of fermented Rhus verniciflua.
