A universal refill of liquid containing one or more active materials is described wherein the refill comprises: a housing at least one reservoir in the housing for holding the liquid at least one aperture in the housing wherein the or each aperture is closed by a valve system comprising at least two valves wherein at least one of said valve(s) is configured to be automatically resealable when not being held open and at least one of said valves is provided in the form of an annular ring valve and wherein the refill is configured to allow the liquid to be extracted by at least two different methods of liquid extraction. Systems comprising emanation devices and universal refills are also described.
