PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pest control agent with pests (an annelida population with Haemadipsa zeylanica japonica Whitman as the center and an invertebrate population) as the objects, which has excellent continuity and stability, exhibits excellent control effect, has no limitation of using form and has safety (particularly, high safety to the human body) like the one derived from a natural product, and to which the reduction in an environmental load can be expected, and to provide a method for using the same.SOLUTION: The pest control agent comprises one or more kinds of compounds selected from the group consisting of salicylic acid 2-hydroxyethyl or its analogs as an active ingredient(s). Further, higher effect can be obtained by incorporating terpenes represented by L-menthol or phenyl propanes represented by vanillin. The pest control effect as the above purpose can be achieved by spraying, applying or scattering the pest control composition to objects requiring pest control (such as footwear, clothes and the outer wall of housing) or directing contacting the same with pests.COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT【課題】本発明は、持続性、安定性に優れ、優れた防除効果を示し、使用形態が限定されず、天然物由来のように安全性(特に人体に対する安全性が高い)があり、且つ環境負担の軽減が期待できる有害生物を対象とした防除剤とその使用方法を提供すること。ここで述べる有害生物とはヤマビルを中心とした環形動物個体群および扁平動物個体群である。【解決手段】本発明の有害生物防除剤は、サリチル酸2-ヒドロキシエチルあるいはその類似化合物からなる群から選ばれる化合物の1種又は2種以上を有効成分として含有することを特徴とする。また、L-メントールを代表とするテルペン類あるいはバニリンを代表とするフェニルプロパン類を含めることでより高い効果が得られる。有害生物防除用組成物を、防除を所望する物体(例えば、履物、衣服、住宅外壁等)に噴霧、塗布、散布あるいは有害生物に直接、接触させることにより、上記目的である有害生物防除効果を達成できる。
