PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a guide wire which can restrict a bending direction of the guide wire and has excellent operability.SOLUTION: A guide wire 1 includes: a tubular body 3 which is long and flexible an expansion/contraction part 4 arranged on a tip of the tubular body 3 and capable of being freely expanded/contracted and a core material 2 operating the expansion/contraction part 4 to be expanded/contracted.
