PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic endoscope and an electronic endoscope system, capable of properly controlling substrate voltage of an imaging element according to the kind of the electronic endoscope.SOLUTION: An electronic endoscope includes: an imaging element provided in a tip part of the electronic endoscope a memory storing peculiar information on the electronic endoscope substrate voltage generation means generating a substrate voltage applied to the imaging element detection means detecting a substrate voltage value applied to the imaging element and control means controlling the substrate voltage generation means.
