A single-use suppository insertion device (100) includes a barrel (110), aplunger (115) configured to be movablycoupled to the barrel, and a disabling feature (131) of the barrel or theplunger. The disabling feature may be configured to be activatedduring operational motion of the plunger relative to the barrel, such asduring insertion of or withdrawal away from a suppository. Thedevice can include a structural element of the barrel or the plungerconfigured to engage with the disabling feature of the barrel or theplunger during insertion of or withdrawal away from the suppository toactivate the disabling feature. The disabling feature may beimplemented in a number of ways to ensure single-use operation of the single-use suppository insertion device.
