PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hair treatment agent which can be applied to the hair smoothly, has not only a good result of hair (no dry hair feeling) but also softness on the top of the head, and further can reduce hair falling out at the time of shampoo to improve hair-loss, and to provide a method of using the same.SOLUTION: Before using a shampoo composition containing (a) an anionic surfactant, a pre-shampoo type hair treatment composition for the shampoo composition containing (A) a cationic surfactant, (B) higher alcohol, (C) dimethylpolysiloxane with a kinematic viscosity of one million mm/s or more at 25°C, and (D) amino-modified silicone is used.
