The present invention relates to cancer and in particular to oral and nasopharyngeal cancers. In particular, the present invention relates to a method of detection and diagnosis of oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) and nasopharyngeal cancers by determining the expression levels of certain genes. The method comprising (a) determining in a biological sample from the patient the amount of the expression level of at least one gene selected from the group consisting of GNA-12 and IFITM3 and (b) comparing the determined expression levels of said genes in said biological sample with the level in a reference. The invention also relates to polypeptides, antibodies and nucleic acids of the invention for use in medicine and a kit for performing the invention.La présente invention concerne le cancer et en particulier les cancers buccaux et rhino-pharyngiens. En particulier, la présente invention concerne un procédé de détection et de diagnostic du carcinome malpighien buccal (OSCC) et des cancers rhino-pharyngiens par détermination des taux d’expression de certains gènes. Le procédé comprend (a) la détermination dans un échantillon biologique du patient de la quantité du taux d’expression d’au moins un gène choisi dans le groupe constitué de GNA-12 et IFITM3 et (b) la comparaison des taux d’expression déterminés desdits gènes dans ledit échantillon biologique au taux dans une référence. L’invention concerne en outre des polypeptides, des anticorps et des acides nucléiques de l’invention pour utilisation en médecine et un kit pour appliquer l’invention.
