PURPOSE: A composition containing a Sepiae os extract for preventing and treating emphysema and pulmonary hypertension is provided to effectively suppress elastase and to remove DPPH and NO without side effects. CONSTITUTION: A composition for preventing and treating emphysema and pulmonary hypertension contains a Sepiae os extract as an active ingredient. The extract is prepared by adding 100-10000 parts by weight of 10-100 volume% ethanol solution to 100 parts by weight of Sepiae os and heating for 10 minutes to 30 hours.본 발명은 해표초 추출물을 유효성분으로 함유하는 폐기종 및 폐고혈압 치료 및 예방용 조성물에 관한 것으로, 구체적으로 10 내지 100부피%의 탄소수 2 내지 5개의 알코올 용액을 추출용매로 사용하고 가열하여 해표초로부터 유효성분을 추출한 해표초 추출물을 유효성분으로 함유하는 폐기종 및 폐고혈압 예방 및 치료용 조성물에 관한 것이다.본 발명에 따른 조성물은 천연물질로부터 추출한 추출물이므로 부작용이 거의 없고, 엘라스타제 활성을 효과적으로 억제하며 DPPH 및 NO의 소거 효과가 우수하기 때문에, 이를 폐기종 및 폐고혈압을 예방하거나 치료하기 위한 의약품으로 사용할 경우 우수한 효과를 기대할 수 있다.
