A glenoid prosthesis for implantation on a scapula bone. The glenoid prosthesis includes a base portion having an articular bearing surface configured to articulate against a humeral head or prosthetic implant, an elongated body portion extending axially from the base portion and configured for positioning within a cavity in the scapula bone, at least one cross bore or through hole extending across the elongated body portion, and a fastener configured for placement in the scapula bone and passing through the through hole in the elongated body portion to thereby attach the glenoid prosthesis to the scapula bone. A method of implanting the glenoid prosthesis on a scapula bone is also provided.La présente invention concerne une prothèse glénoïdienne destinée à être implantée sur un os scapulaire. La prothèse glénoïdienne comporte une partie formant base présentant une surface dappui articulaire configurée de façon à sarticuler contre une tête humérale ou un implant prothétique, une partie formant corps allongé sétendant axialement à partir de la partie formant base et étant configurée de façon à se positionner à lintérieur dune cavité de los scapulaire, au moins un alésage traversant ou un trou débouchant sétendant dun côté à lautre de la partie formant corps allongé et un élément de fixation étant configuré de façon à être placé dans los scapulaire et à traverser le trou débouchant ménagé dans la partie formant corps allongé afin de fixer ainsi la prothèse glénoïdienne à los scapulaire. La présente invention se rapporte également à un procédé dimplantation de la prothèse glénoïdienne sur un os scapulaire.
