Motion independent acoustic radiation impulse imaging is provided. Rather than rely on displacement over time for each location, displacements across locations are used for each time. Parallel beamforming is used to simultaneously sample over the area of interest. Since it can be assumed that the different positions are dependent on the same motion at the same time, finding peak displacements over positions for each given time provides motion-independent peak or profile information.
