PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a collagen base material capable of proliferating a periphytic cell according to a complex shape, and a novel method for culturing a cell by using the collagen substrate.
SOLUTION: Provided is a collagen substrate produced by following steps of: (1) producing a molded product composed of a filamentous material using water-soluble collagen as a raw material (2) crosslinking the molded product and (3) processing the molded product into a powdery material. Also provided is a method for culturing a cell using the collagen substrate, comprising following steps of: (i) filling a culture vessel with the collagen substrate (ii) seeding the periphytic cell on the collagen substrate and (iii) culturing the periphytic cell.
