The present invention concerns a TCTP antagonist, in particular a nucleic acid targeting an m RNA encoding Translationally-Controlled Tumor Protein (TCTP), wherein said nucleic acid is capable of reducing the amount of TCTP in cells, for use in the treatment or prevention of hormone-independent cancer or chemo-resistant cancer, such as an androgen-independent prostate cancer.La présente invention concerne un antagoniste de TCTP, en particulier un acide nucléique ciblant un ARNm codant la protéine tumorale TCTP (Translationally-Controlled Tumor Protein), ledit acide nucléique pouvant diminuer la teneur en TCTP dans les cellules, pour utilisation dans le traitement prophylactique ou thérapeutique dun cancer hormono-indépendant ou chimiorésistant, par exemple un cancer de la prostate indépendant des androgènes.
