The invention relates to a preform for producing a container for holding fluidsused in medical applications, in particular for holding infusions or enteralnutrient solutions. The invention also relates to a method for producing containersof this type and to a container of this type. The preform according to the invention,having a neck (1) with an opening (1A), a wall (2) and a base (3), is characterisedin that one end of a first sub-section (4A) and one end of a second sub-section (4B)of an annular hanger for hanging up the container are integrally moulded on theunderside of the base (3) and the free ends of the first and second sub-sectionscan be interconnected to form the annular hanger by the deformation of the sub-sections.The preform is produced in a first step, in which the free ends of the two sub-sectionsare not yet interconnected. The container is then formed from the preform by stretchingand blow moulding. The preform is preferably produced in an injection mouldingprocess. The definitive factor is that during the injection moulding process,the two sub-sections of the annular hanger are not yet interconnected, thus simplifyingthe injection moulding process for producing the preform.
