An oral care composition is disclosed comprising calcium silicate and composite particles wherein the composite particle comprises a first component core comprising a metal compound having a refractive index in the range from 1.9 to 4.0 and a second component coating comprising a mixture of 1) metal oxides and/or hydrated metal oxides and 2) solid non metal oxides and/or solid hydrated non metal oxides.
