Disclosed are an ultrasound probe and a communications method thereof which can select the most optimal ultrasound inspection device and/or the most optimal wireless communications method in an environment where multiple ultrasound inspection devices exist. A method which enables the ultrasound probe to communicate with the ultrasound inspection device according to an embodiment of the present invention comprises the steps of: acquiring information on a plurality of the ultrasound inspection devices； displaying a list of the ultrasound inspection devices based on the information on the ultrasound inspection devices； receiving an input for selecting an ultrasound inspection device among the displayed list of the ultrasound inspection devices； and wirelessly transmitting ultrasound image data, generated by the ultrasound probe, to the ultrasound inspection device.복수의 초음파 진단 장치들이 존재하는 환경에서 가장 적합한 초음파 진단 장치 및/또는 가장 적합한 무선 통신 방식을 선택할 수 있는 초음파 프로브 및 초음파 프로브의 통신 방법이 개시된다. 본 발명의 일 실시예에 따른 초음파 프로브가 초음파 진단 장치와 통신하는 방법은, 복수의 초음파 진단 장치들에 대한 정보를 획득하는 단계, 복수의 초음파 진단 장치들에 대한 정보에 기초하여, 초음파 진단 장치 리스트를 디스플레이하는 단계, 디스플레이된 초음파 진단 장치 리스트 중에서 초음파 진단 장치를 선택하는 입력을 수신하는 단계, 및 초음파 진단 장치로 초음파 프로브에서 생성된 초음파 영상 데이터를 무선으로 송신하는 단계를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 할 수 있다.
