PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an antibacterial agent for suppressing the multiplication of Streptococcus mutans said to be causal bacteria of dental caries being a disease of the buccal cavity, Actinomyces viscosus said to be causal bacteria of periodontitis, Streptococcus pyogenes to be inflammatory causal bacteria being haemolytic streptococci, Staphylococcus aureous to be causal bacteria of food poisoning, and the like, a composition for the buccal cavity and a food and drink containing the antibacterial agent.
SOLUTION: The antibacterial agent against buccal cavity diseases, Streptococcus infectious diseases, and Staphylococcus aureus contains a water extract and/or an organic solvent extract of one or more kinds of Ascomycetes or Basidiomycetes selected from the group consisting of Morchella esculenta, Auricularia auricula, Pholiota nameko, Pachyma hoelen, Lyophylum aggregatum, Hericium Erinaceum, and the like as effective components. Also, the composition for the buccal cavity and food and drink, containing the antibacterial agent are provided.
