In one embodiment, selection of a subset or portion of the cardiac cycle is avoided in order to increase the reliability and usefulness of the diagnostic ratios and parameters described herein. In one embodiment, the minimum or relative extremum of a set of diagnostic metrics plotted for each cycle is used to signal the diagnosis of stenosis or other intravascular event or phenomenon.
