PURPOSE: Silver powder for latent fingerprint detection and a method for preparing the same are provided to prevent the denaturation of silver powder caused by oxidation even in case of long-term storage by improving the detection efficiency and stability. CONSTITUTION: The surface of silver powder for latent fingerprint detection is coated with a coating agent selected from the group consisting of dimethicone, dimethiconol, methicone, phenyl methicone, and trimethylsiloxysilicate. A method for preparing the silver powder comprises a step of mixing silver powder 2 weight% with alcohol 1.5~2.5 weight%, a step of putting the coating agent 0.005~0.02 weight% in the mixed liquid, and a step of removing alcohol from the mixture to obtain coated silver powder.본 발명은 잠재지문 현출용 은 분말 및 이의 제조방법에 관한 것으로, 보다 상세하게는 표면이 디메치콘(Dimethicone), 디메치콘올(Dimethiconol), 메치콘(Methicone), 페닐디메치콘(Phenyl Methicone), 트리메틸실록시실리케이트(Trimethylsiloxysilicate)로 이루어진 군으로부터 선택된 하나로 코팅되어 있는 것을 특징으로 하는 잠재지문 현출용 은 분말 및 이의 제조방법에 관한 것이다.본 발명에 의하면 현출효능이 매우 우수하면서도 안정성이 향상되어 장기간 보관 시에도 산화 등에 의한 변성이 없는 잠재지문 현출용 은 분말 및 이의 제조방법을 제공할 수 있다.
