PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a particle beam therapy apparatus capable of irradiation from a plurality of directions around a patient body axis and a deflection device, while reducing their costs.SOLUTION: In the deflection device, a first deflection electromagnet 3, a second deflection electromagnet 4, and a third deflection electromagnet (split style tunnel type electromagnet) 5 are arranged in this order from the upper stream. The third electromagnet 5 is configured so that a gap part 15 is provided to provide a tunnel type electromagnets in a connected row arrangement in the direction of the patient body axis. The tunnel shape includes a hollow part 16 through which the patient body axis penetrates. The gap part 15 forms a split. When a controller 40 instructs the amount of excitation current of suitable deflection devices 3-5, a particle beam 1 is offset almost in parallel by the deflection electromagnets 3, 4 to irradiate an affected part while drawing a circular orbit in a magnetic field space by the third deflection electromagnet 5. Thereby, irradiation can be carried out from the plurality of directions around the patient body axis. The deflection device is fixed and installed at height almost the same as the patient 2 and spatial movement is not needed. Thereby, cost can be reduced.COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT【課題】患者体軸周りの複数の方向から照射可能な粒子線治療装置およびその偏向装置のコスト低減を図る。【解決手段】偏向装置は上流から第1偏向電磁石3と第2偏向電磁石4と第3偏向電磁石(スプリット式トンネル型電磁石)5とを配置する。第3電磁石装置5はトンネル形状の電磁石を間隙部15を設けて患者体軸方向に連設するように構成される。トンネル形状は患者体軸が貫通可能な空洞部16を有する。間隙部15はスプリットを形成する。制御装置40が適切な偏向装置3~5の励磁電流量を指令すると、粒子線ビーム1は偏向電磁石3,4により略平行にオフセットされ、第3偏向電磁石5による磁場空間において、円軌道を描きながら、患部に照射される。これにより患者体軸周りの複数の方向から照射が可能となる。偏向装置は、患者2と同じ程度の高さに固定して据え付けられ、空間的な移動を伴わない。これによりコスト低減を図ることができる。【選択図】図1
