PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a greening device applicable for greening of a paved street area and greening of a canal upper part of an underground sewerage and an underground water storage tank, and contributing to purification of road surface discharged water of a carriageway.SOLUTION: This greening device 501 using road surface discharged water has a channel part 505 which is on a side of a paved road surface 511, arranges in a line water storage containers 506 and 507 on a bottom, and arranges a material 508 of a porous structure on a place separated from a water surface of the water storage container, a discharged water-lead-in part 512 which introduces discharged water of a paved road surface and a street gutter to the channel part, a soil layer 509 which is placed on the top of the material of a porous structure for planting greening plants, and an outflow part 514 of purified water overflowing from the water storage container after being purified with the material of a porous structure. The soil layer 509 comprises wood-base lightweight soil which is for adsorbing water transported by evaporation from water stored in the water storage container or by humidity difference, and has charcoal and decayed wood chips as the main material. The soil layer has large water retaining power to lessen evaporation of water to the atmosphere. The material of a porous structure adsorbs water in the water storage container and supplies to plants.
