PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a harmful insect-controlling composition having excellent efficacy of controlling harmful insects, particularly dipterous harmful insects.SOLUTION: The harmful insect-controlling composition includes: [a] (2,3,5,6-tetrafluoro-4-(methoxymethyl)phenyl)methyl=2,2,3,3-tetramethyl cyclopropane carboxylate； and [b] an ester compound shown by formula (I) (in the formula, Rdenotes a hydrogen atom or a methyl group, and Rdenotes a methoxymethyl group) by 50:1-1:50 of a mass ratio of [a]:[b].【課題】害虫、特に双翅目害虫に対して優れた防除効力を有する害虫防除用組成物を提供する。【解決手段】［ａ］（２，３，５，６－テトラフルオロ－４－（メトキシメチル）フェニル）メチル＝２，２，３，３－テトラメチルシクロプロパンカルボキシレートと、［ｂ］式（Ｉ）〔式中、Ｒaは水素原子またはメチル基を表し、Ｒbはメチル基またはメトキシメチル基を表す。〕で示されるエステル化合物とを、［ａ］：［ｂ］の質量比５０：１～１：５０で含有することを特徴とする害虫防除用組成物。【選択図】なし
