The disclosure relates to a method for treating a veterinary subject suffering from cancer, comprising administering to said veterinary subject a therapeutically effective amount of a compound represented by (Z)-3-(3-(3,5-bis(trifluoromethyl)phenyl)-1H-1,2,4-triazol-1-yl)-N’-(pyridin-2-yl)acrylohydrazide, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof. The subject can be a dog and the cancer can be lymphoma. Also disclosed is family of nuclear transport modulators (CRM1 inhibitors). The disclosure also relates to the use these compounds for the treatment of disorders such as proliferative disorder, an inflammatory disorder, an autoimmune disorder, a viral infection, an ophthalmological disorder, a neurodegenerative disorder, a disorder of abnormal tissue growth, a disorder related to food intake, allergies, cancer and a respiratory disorder and methods of manufacturing these compounds.
