A bait box (10) for a rodent and a method for making the same. A kit of parts for assembly into a bait box for a rodent. The bait box includes a housing (40) which includes a floor (46) and at least one wall (41) extending upwardly from the floor. The wall defines an aperture (70) for the rodent to enter or leave the bait box. The bait box also includes a lid (20) which is connected to the housing by a hinge (30) so that the lid is moveable between an open position and a closed position. In the closed position the lid contacts the housing. The bait box further includes a layer (80) positioned within the housing to cover at least a part of the floor which is adjacent to the aperture. La boîte appât comprend un logement (40) qui comprend un plancher (46) et au moins une paroi (41) sétendant vers le haut depuis le plancher. La paroi définit une ouverture (70) pour que le rongeur puisse entrer ou sortir de la boîte appât. La boîte appât comprend également un couvercle (20) qui est relié au logement par une charnière (30), de telle sorte que le couvercle puisse passer dune position ouverte à une position fermée. En position fermée, le couvercle est en contact avec le logement. La boîte appât comprend en outre une couche (80) placée à lintérieur du logement afin de recouvrir au moins partiellement le plancher qui est adjacent à louverture. La couche comprend des fibres de cellulose.
