A nonwoven fabric comprising bicomponent fibers having a phase structure made ofplural resins different in heat shrinkage factor, wherein the bicomponent fibersare orientated nearly parallel to the plane direction and crimped to an averagecurvature radius of 20 to 200μm nearly uniformly in the thickness direction.This nonwoven fabric is substantially free from pressure-sensitive adhesivesand the bicomponent fibers of the fabric are present in a substantially non-fusedstate. The bicomponent fibers are each constituted of both a polyalkylene terephthalateresin and a modified polyalkylene terephthalate resin and may have any of side-by-sidetype structure and core-sheath type structure. Since such bimetal-type bicomponentfibers having specific crimps are contained in the fabric in a properly entangledstate, the fabric has high stretchability and can be easily cut by hand withoutscissors, thus being suitable for tapes such as bandages and supporters.
