PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shape detection probe having excellent durability.SOLUTION: The shape detection probe includes a shape detection part having a plurality of coils provided at prescribed intervals along the longitudinal direction of the shape detection probe and signal lines extended from the respective coils to the proximal end side of the shape detection probe, and a first exterior member having flexibility covering the whole circumference of the shape detection part. The inner diameter of the first exterior member is larger than the outermost diameter of the shape detection member. The shape detection part is supported by the first exterior member so that a prescribed clearance is provided between the outer circumference of the shape detection part and the inner circumference of the first exterior member.
