PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbent article which is slim, exhibits no liquid leakage, and is excellent in absorbency.SOLUTION: An absorbent article comprises: a liquid permeable top sheet 2 a liquid impermeable back sheet 7 and an absorber 4, an upper layer water-absorbing sheet 5, and a lower layer water-absorbing sheet 6 in order from the top sheet side between the top sheet and the back sheet. The absorber comprises an upper hydrophilic nonwoven fabric 41, a first water-absorbing layer 42 containing a water-absorbing resin and an adhesive agent, an intermediate hydrophilic nonwoven fabric 43, a second water-absorbing layer 44 containing the water-absorbing resin and the adhesive agent, and a lower hydrophilic nonwoven fabric 45 in order from the top sheet side. The lower layer water-absorbing sheet 6 is a hydrophilic sheet containing pulp, and its area is 110% or more and 400% or less relative to the area of the absorber. The thickness of the absorbent article is 4 mm or less.
