A method of making a multilumen catheter assembly (5), comprising steps of: forming a unitary catheter tube (60) to have a proximal portion (62), a distal portion (64), a distal end portion (66) terminating in a distal end tip (68), a first lumen (24), and a second lumen (26), each of the first lumen (24) and the second lumen (26) extending longitudinally through the unitary catheter tube (60)； forming a first distal end tube (14) having a first passageway (24) extending longitudinally therethrough and a second distal end tube (16) having a second passageway (26) extending longitudinally therethrough； and attaching the first and second distal end tubes (14, 16) to the distal end tip (68) of the unitary catheter tube (60) such that the first passageway (24) of the first distal end tube (14) is in fluid communication with the first lumen (24) of the unitary catheter tube (60) and the second passageway (26) of the second distal end tube (16) is in fluid communication with the second lumen (26) of the unitary catheter tube (60).
