The present invention provides a stool collecting unit that makes it possible to increase the storage stability for components in a stool sample such as hemoglobin, and measure the components in a stool sample using a small amount of collected stool. The stool collecting unit comprises a container body and a stool collecting rod that has a gripping part on one side and a rod part on the other side, the rod part being provided with a stool collecting part in the vicinity of the tip end, wherein the stool collecting unit is characterized in that the container body is provided with an opening part through which the stool collecting part of the stool collecting rod is inserted, and a stool collection compartment having a desiccant sealed therein, the stool collecting part inserted from the opening part and holding the stool sample comes into contact with the desiccant to dry the stool sample held by the stool collecting part, and the dried stool sample is stored within the desiccant.本發明提供一種提高血紅蛋白等便檢體中之成分之保存安定性且能夠以較少之採便量進行便檢體中之成分之測定的採便器。本發明之採便器之特徵在於包含：容器本體；及採便棒，其於一側具有抓持部且於另一側具有在其前端附近設置有採便部之棒部；且上述容器本體包含：開口部，其供上述採便棒之採便部插通；及便收容室，其於內部封入有乾燥劑，且藉由使自上述開口部插入之保持有便檢體之採便部與乾燥劑接觸，而使保持於採便部之便檢體乾燥，並將乾燥狀態之便檢體保存於乾燥劑中。
