PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing device capable of accurately positioning two images captured by photographing the same subject with different kinds of modalities so that the spatial positions of the subject match each other.SOLUTION: A first image V1 and a second image V2 captured by photographing the same subject with different kinds of modalities are obtained, and the first image V1 is deformed. The degree of similarity between the deformed first image V1 and the second image V2 is evaluated by an evaluation function for evaluating the correlativity of distribution of corresponding pixel values of the both images, and the quantity of image deformation of the first image V1 is estimated. Then, an image obtained by deforming the first image V1 is generated based on the estimated quantity of image deformation. The evaluation function has an item representing the scale of correlativity of the corresponding pixel values of the deformed first image V1 and the second image V2.
