A surgical fastener comprising a coil body including a plurality of coil windings is disclosed. The coil body has a proximal end and a distal end. A separate head is attached to the proximal end of the coil body and includes at least one external thread having at least one full turn adapted to engage with a corresponding internal thread of a delivery device. The head further includes a non-circular through hole adapted to receive a rod therethrough to guide and/or drive the surgical fastener from the delivery device.
