A portable sterilizer is provided that is capable of sterilizing an object. The portable sterilizer includes a housing, sensor, and at least one sterilizing light source. The housing has a chamber and at least one opening communicated with the chamber. The sensor is disposed in the housing. The sterilizing light source is disposed in the housing and electrically coupled to the sensor.
