The present invention relates to an assembly for mounting a suspension rail to a carrier surface. The suspension rail comprises a mounting side including opposing support members defining a mounting opening. The assembly comprises rail connector part and a safety connector part cooperating with each other. The rail connector part has a locking section with dimensions that allow introduction thereof in the mounting opening of the rail in a first pivot position of the rail connector part relative to the rail. The dimensions of the locking section are such as to allow internal clamping thereof in between the opposing support members in a second pivot position for securing the rail connector part to the rail. The safety connector part comprises a fixing element for fixing it to the carrier surface. The rail connector part comprises a receiver section, and the safety connector part comprises a gripper section cooperating with the receiver section such as to clamping of the rail connector part with a clamping force to the safety connector part.
