The present invention provides a method for monitoring a heart rate, which includes providing a photo detector module, an accelerometer and a Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) module； calculating a first heart rate by using the photo detector module and the FFT module； sampling at different time, and generating a frame by using the accelerometer and the FFT module, wherein the frame has a plurality of peaks and a first plurality of indexes corresponding to the plurality of peaks, and a plurality of sport intervals are defined by the first plurality of indexes； and calculating a present heart rate by a interval tracking algorithm with the first heart rate the a plurality of sport intervals generating at different time.本發明係一種偵測心率的方法，包括提供一光偵測器模組、一運動偵測器與一快速傅立葉轉換(Fast Fourier Transform,FFT)模組，藉由該光偵測器模組與該FFT模組以得到一第一心率，在不同時間進行取樣，藉由該運動偵測器與該FFT模組產生一頻譜資訊框(frame)，其中該頻譜資訊框具有複數個峰值(peak)以及對應該複數個峰值(peak)的第一複數個指標(index)，並利用該第一複數個指標定義複數個運動區間，以及利用該第一心率與不同時間取樣所得之該複數個運動區間進行一區間追蹤演算法以獲得一目前心率。
