PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medical herb composition useful for increasing the therapeutic index of a medicine including those used in therapy of viral infection and cancer neoplasm.SOLUTION: A combined agent composition for cancer treatment comprises a combination of i) a medical herb preparation comprising Scutellaria (genus Scutellaria), Glycyrrhiza (genus Glycyrrhiza), Ziziphus (genus Ziziphus) and Paeonia (genus Paeonia) and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier, with ii) a formulation for chemotherapy comprising a chemotherapeutic compound. In an administration method of the combined agent composition, the medical herb preparation is administered by oral route and the formulation for chemotherapy is administered by oral or non-oral route. In an administration method of the combined agent composition, the medical herb preparation is administered before the formulation for chemotherapy is administered.
