Dry powder inhaler systems for pulmonary delivery of pharmaceuticals aredisclosed. The dry powder inhalationsystems comprise a dry powder inhalation device or inhaler ( 109) and acartridge (1600) containing a pharmaceutical formulationcomprising an active ingredient for delivery to the pulmonary circulation. Thepresent devices provide rugged devices which arereusable, use pre-metered unit dose cartridges which deliver a medicament in aliner manner, and can be disassembled forclean-ing. The devices also provide a high resistance inhalation system whichenables deagglomeration of dry powder particles, have aconsistent airflow, are easy to manufacture and are simple and relatively easyto use.
