A crop stripper band (80) for use on a crop pick-up (10) together with other identical side-by-side mounted crop stripper bands (80) is disclosed. The stripper band (80), when considered in side view in an orientation occupied when mounted on a pick-up (10), includes fore-and-aft extending upper and lower legs (86, 40) having forward ends joined to an arcuate bight section (88) building a stripper band body (82), the stripper band (80) further comprising: said upper leg (86) being constructed of plastic together with a metal reinforcement so as to afford strength for supporting a heavy load of crop； and said lower leg (40) being constructed entirely of plastic and being sufficiently resilient so as to rebound to its original shape after being deflected by contacting a hard object.
