PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the use amount of parabens, phenoxyethanol, 1,2-alkanediol, alkyl glyceryl ether, etc., which are antibacterial/preservative agents generally used in cosmetics, and further to make up cosmetics. It is an object of the present invention to provide an antibacterial agent or an antiseptic agent that exhibits excellent feeling of use and emollient property when blended in a food. SOLUTION: A salt of lanolin fatty acid is used. As the salt, Na, K, Ca, Zn, ammonium, triethanolamine, arginine and guanidine are preferable, and arginine and guanidine are more preferable.
